i have been enjoying looking through old photos lately--realizing how different life was way back when and enjoying remembering different seasons of my life. one such season was when todd and i were newly married but we had not started our family (although zuzu had joined us). i was teaching english at south plantation high school--10th and 11th grade english--to 242 students. that meant 242 papers to grade and 242 names to learn and remember. i cried a lot that year. in this picture you can see my bulletin board, which featured photos of my family, a pic of zuzu, a pic of me in the air leaping (from a college dance performance), and pix of my car accident...as much as i had on my mind and on my plate that year, i could not have imagined all that lay in store for me over the next 10 years. i taught at south another year and had fewer students and was blessed to teach ap language, honors english and gifted english--vastly different clientele from my 242 kids (many who were fcat failures or drop-out risks or threats to society). i was also blond. the end of my second year at south was met with bed rest while i was preggers with lily and then life just never quite slowed down from there. i'm glad this smiling blond (skinny) gal didn't know all that would happen in 10 years because the journey--though quite hard at times--has been amazing...
