oh my gosh, y'all, are you really ready for this? i just uploaded 51 photos in this pst alone...and i have already done more in other posts tonight...and will do more after this...brace yourselves (and pace yourselves, too)
we went to disney this past weekend with mimi and poppy--an awesome time, really, and are you ready for this??? NO STROLLERS!!! almost couldn't believe it myself! the kids did fine and other than normal whininess and a sprinkling of bratty behavior, they did fantastic! we had so much fun with mimi and poppy and the weather was amazing...here are mimi and bella waiting for the little mermaid show at hollywood studios...
you gotta love hollywood studios--a little something for everyone...little mermaid, darth vader...what more could you ask for?oh the disney magic...i bet you thought that was real snow there, didn't you...my kids have no clue that real snow is cold...they think it is either rock hard (a la the snow here) or warm fluffy powder..some day we will set things straight...
we were on the disney "health" plan for the weekend...ice cream at lunch, ice cream bar in the afternoon, jelly bellies the next day (after your chocolate chip pancakes, of course)
so the star wars ride had been widely publicized in our house...touted as a future favorite...a "must do," not scary at all...when will we ever learn???
fortunately i didn't capture the "after" photo...lily looked green and threatened to vomit and ty was bawling his eyes out (until we entered the store, of course)...c'est la vie, right?
here's a couple of ewoks on their speeders...
ty selected this lovely (and authentic sounding) gun from the star wars shop...
he's so multi-talented that he can fly and aim at the same time...
ahh, the tram...do you realize that if you leave the disney property before you've actually gone to the parks, you've still paid $20 bucks for a tram ride? per ride, it's the most expensive attraction at disney! i have half a mind to spend a day riding around the parking lot in it, just to get my money's worth!
so the real reason we were in orlando this weekend was to cheer on auntie leslee in her ultra-triathelon "the great floridian." she swam several miles, biked for 112 miles, and then ran the 26.2 mile marathon...AND, she came in third place for her age group! we were all so gosh darn proud of her and wore our special shirts with major pride!
her bike is in there somewhere...i think it's the one with the solid disc wheel (don't quote me on that)
lily was loving uncle john's cowbell, which she ran around ringing
bella sat and watched the race course for leslee to appear...
when she came through we jumped in with her...look, she even has a smile on her face! at this point she still had six miles to go...mind you it was about 8:30 p.m here, so she had been racing since before 7 that morning...still smiling...aren't you in awe? i was
we visited downtown disney the next day...
so even though we missed going to legoland, the kids still paid homage to their favorite toy...
the group shots crack me up...without fail there is always one kid who is not cooperating in some fashion...
of course this shot with my dad they are all looking in the general direction of the camera...and mostly smiling...i might photoshop dad out and make this our christmas card this year :)
ooooo, the carousel...this is right at our speed
maybe this is our card this year...even though lily is wearing enormous paws and claws...hey, you take what you can get :)
