Ty turns six...

i am sad when i look at the date of the last post...almost a month! i can't make any promises that it won't happen again, but i am sorry it has been this long this time! schedules have been crowded, lots of travel and busy-ness...i will attempt to play catch up :)
so my ty ty turned six...he was ready to put five in the rearview mirror! we had a big birthday party at sun country and he invited his whole class plus some other friends. they had 30 minutes in the bounce room and 30 minutes on their giant climbing thing...and then 30 minutes to shove pizza and cake in before they were sent home with a goody bag and a balloon. they unplug the inflatable throne at the end, signaling the end of the birthday boy's reign and we all went home to open presents...
i will post about the twins birthday too--perhaps this weekend. they have now turned four and are blowing me away with their growth--both physical and cognitive. we are rapidly entering a lovely phase without diapers, sippy cups, cribs, strollers, and hopefully soon--temper tantrums and screaming fits...

here is the birthday boy with squishy on his six--they were all so sweaty when we left! i think everyone slept well that night...
one of ty's oldest friends, kendall, looking adorable.
lily mid-cannon-ball into the ball pit
one of ty's other oldest friends, tristan, living it up
ty and his good buddy aidan, who shares his loves of star wars and legos and all things BOY
notice who isn't on the inside of the glass...
 the scene...
james and our friend nicholas resting and chatting

 i love this kid...
so i made ty's cake. a few thoughts about that. i can make cool stuff from fondant. i can. but...a cake maker i am NOT!! the lego brick--even though it was held somewhat in place by like 10 skewers--was too heavy and spent the morning sliding off the bottom layer. my fondant figures were also falling off. but the birthday boy was happy and i will be glad to call publix next year and place my order--it will be well worth whatever they charge :)
but even with my lack of skill and the frustrating hours it took to make this cake come to life, this was the reaction i got...so worth it

so i now have twin four year olds, a six year old, and a seven and a half year old...unbelieveable :)
