playing catch-up...our trip to wva/md

So rewind the clock to July 15th--we celebrated Todd's birthday and began our trek up to Wva/Md--a two-day fun-filled action-packed adventure...We kicked it off with Ty having a fever of 103 and discovering he had headlice somewhere in Georgia...oh, and Todd had to deal with all that plus drive 9 hours on his birthday---hope you enjoyed it sweetie!!!
Lily made daddy a crown and he wore it proudly!

here's a before and after of Ty's hair--after I treated him I shaved it--he wasn't a willing participant but he was happy with the result

here's cousin Laura with James and me at the dinner the day before the family reunion (which Todd and I attended in shifts because of Ty's sickness)
the four with cousin Kayla enjoying the porch swing at Uncle Bill's house

here's the girls applying the make-up that Lily got for the trip--she's obsessed with eyeshadow right now!
daddy getting ready to plow into a Curtis Coney Island dog...yum yum!
the girls at great-gran and great-grandma's house
mama and her Ty Ty at Curtis after Ty's ER visit--in addition to his fever that wouldn't go away, he had a bite on his cheek that needed to be looked at--the ER doc said it was most likely a spider (not a tick as we had feared) and his fever was the result of a nasty long-running virus!
Bella enjoying some sweet corn--we ate a lot on this trip!
daddy and James at the Queen City Creamery--yummy!! good lunch and ice cream!
Gran and Bella getting ready for ice cream...
Mama and her big girl...my my she's looking old!
GG and Bella, also waiting for ice cream...
we got to see the Western Maryland Scenic Railroad right up close, which was a highlight for James--he LOVES trains and Thomas! the other kiddos were fascinated as well!
mama with Great Gran and Great Grandma, whom Lily adores!!
at the Queen City Creamery's soda fountain...
the six of us...
daddy and Mr. Moon
here we were down at the Potomac River, throwing "biggies" in and skipping rocks--they could have done this all day!
this might be the Christmas card this year!

a pretty little scene, eh?
you can pump water, which the kids all enjoyed
Lily with Aunt Sandy (one of GG's sisters)
GG and Gran at Point Lookout

Sheepy with Point Lookout in the background
this looks more reckless than it actually was...she had fun with the binoculars

this is the booming metropolis of Little Orleans...I will leave it at that

this is the sign on the door of THE store in Little Orleans--this is the kind of thinking I can get behind!

C&O Canal in Maryland

on top of the tow path

awwwwww
this is overlooking the Green Ridge State Forest, where Todd's grandaddy was once a ranger

this is funny to me because my hair is now dark brown and very short...

we stopped at Aunt Cheri's and Uncle Jim's house in Topsail Island, NC at the end of our trip--three of the kids had fevers by that point but we motrined them up and hit the beach

Uncle Jim and Ty, hitting the waves--they both had a blast!

on top of Cheri's porch
so the night we finally made it back to Jacksonville, Todd and I were just getting ready to finally have a dinner out by ourselves when Ty went spinning through the house and whacked his face on the end table--THANK GOD he did not split it open--he came pretty darn close!
this was the next morning
and this was a few days later--pretty, eh?

So that was our trip...hope you enjoyed the pix... cheers!
